In group posts what does it mean to "bump"

I see it in some forums and posts. What does it mean?

    BUMP means Bring Up My Post! When someone posts "bump" in a reply to a post, they are bringing the whole thread to the top of the group so more people will see it. The posts on the group are in order of when the last reply was added.

  • As people post in other threads, the other threads drift down the page and onto other pages. Posting "bump" moves the thread up to the top of the list so that it is more visible. People do this when they don't have anything to add to the thread but don't want the thread lost on other pages.

  • If you bump a post, it will show up as one of the recent posts on your homepage. Sometimes moms want their posts read or replied to so they will bump it.
