does anyone know how to start a compost pile?

i really want to plant a garden this spring and i already have a few seedlings going in starter pots in my house but i really wanted to get a compost pile going to fertilize them when i plant them outside- i want to do it as naturally as possible and i dont have much space in my backyard (its about a 35 ft by 30 ft space) and i cant have the pile be too unsightly because my mother in law will freak (we live in a 2 family house with her in one apt and us in another but we all share the backyard)

  • A compost pile small or large should be made up of all natural materials. No animal bones, anything that won't "decompose' Just put in all your left over veggies, like potato peels, banana peels, and anything else you'll throw away like strawberry tops and the ends of the green onion and celery stalks, the middle of the lettuce head. And remember to turn it once in a while like your tossing a salad, it keeps the air moving thru it.
