It's to early for my ultrasound but my baby's heartbeat was 167.... i was wondering if there's any truth to the old wives tale. Over 140 it's a girl Lower than 140 it's a boy.

  • there is no truth to this. With each of my kids the hr gets faster. I had a boy, then girl, and my last 2 have been boys. This is my fourth child (third boy) and he has the fastest hr of any of my kids. Olivia's (my only daughter) had the second slowest. This is just an old wives tale

  • Early heartrates, in the first trimester, are all high. My son's was 170's at 9wks.
Then in the second trimester the heartrate usually slows, and gets stronger. My son was always in the 130's, 140's on occasion.
