How many hours at a time does a 6 week old sleep at night?

  • The longest stretch my first daughter slept was about 3 hours straight at this age, but started doing about 5 hours at around 8 weeks. My second slept 5-6 hours at the start of the night at 6 weeks. Babies are different, and there's nothing you can do at this age except feed your baby.

  • I definitely think it depends on the baby and their feeding schedule. My 5 week old can go for 5 - 6 hours some nights but for the last couple of weeks that means we're up at 3:30 - 5:00 am.
