confused about "effacment"

last friday one of my Drs said i was %70 effaced, and 1 and half cm dilated...
this friday (today) my other Dr said i was %50 effaced and 3 cm dilated.

is a full effacement 0% or 100%. im really confused.
i called the nurse to ask about this, and im still waiting on a call back about it.

if you know about this, please let me know. thanks!

  • 100% is full. Maybe they were wrong the first time or the second. I dont think it could really go backwards. Or since you are more dilated its giving more of a lip and just feels less effaced then you are, not sure.

  • Effacement is rated from 0-meaning none to 100%-meaning fully completed. Effacement is when the cervix flattens and thins out 100% effacment and dialated to 10cm means it's time to push that baby out. Women can be nearly fully effaced for weeks before labor.
