I have 2 five year olds,boy/girl and a eight year old son. My five year old son has started becoming musky under the arms. None of my other kids have this problem yet. Anyway, is five year old to young to start using deodorant? If not, what kind should I buy him or do I need to get something from his doctor for him to use?

  • I have heard something about antiperspirants with aluminum in them not being safe.  You might try an natural one.

  • I wouldn't start using it on them at 5, my sons were 8 and 9 but they are very active in sports.

  • I would just buy some baby wipes and clean his under arms. Or give him a bath daily.

You think he smells now...Wait tell he becomes a teenager..You will think he smells sweet  compared to that.

  • Try the rock salt/crystal kind. Those are natural and really do work.

  • My son was 7 when he started wearing deo. I was shocked that he had underarm odor. And it was just like you said, "musky". I bought an unscented one, I thought that would be milder than a really strong perfumey one. I think I bought Ban, or suave or something.
