diarrhea - milk ok?

my 16 mo just had diarrhea, i dont know what caused it. i usually give him a bottle of milk for bed - can i still do that? is milk ok? i know that when babies vomit, they say milk is no good. but for diarrhea, is it ok?

  • dairy is ALL bad with diarhea(sp?) its bad for constipation too. if someone(including children) is regular, it will help them stay regular, if they arent it will only make them worse, kinda weird i know.
    use the BRAT diet....
    B- bananas
    R- rice (including rice cereal)
    A-apples, applesauce
    T- tea, toast
    and i guess yogurt is okay too?? idk though.

  • Our pediatrician has us give milk when they only have diarrhea, but milk tends to constipate my boys. Dairy products are bad when vomiting for just about anyone, though.

    If the diarrhea has cleared up, it's okay to go back to a normal diet, though.
