Would you leave your child in the care of a hotel babysitter on vacation?

I'm looking at resorts in Mexico for my honeymoon and a lot of them have babysitting services. I can not IMAGINE leaving my child with a stranger in a hotel in a foreign country!! Somebody must be partaking in these services. Would you?

  • Um no absolutely not. I wouldn't trust a hotel babysitter in the U.S. let alone in another country. And just to let you know...there is a travel warning about Mexico. Many people have been abducted and killed/sold into slavery. There is a war between the drug lords right now and things are very scary down there. So this is definitely not a good time to be leaving your child alone with someone you don't know.

  • OMG, I am a first time mom and 45, call me old fashion but HECK NO. I don't care where I am, if I were in disney I wouldn't. I would spend the money to bring my own sitter or my mother or just not go on vacation with my son. Heck as much as I would hate to I would leave my child home before I would leave my child with a stranger no matter what. But hey thats just me and I am sure lots of people have done it and it is just fine, its just not fine for ME.

  • No, I couldn't do it either. We plan on going on vacation with my sister and her family. That way, they have their adult nights and can go out and we can have ours. We just alternate nights. I can't wait. I don't want to go on vacation without my daughter, but if I have to I will rather than leave her with strangers. She has never been babysat by anyone, but her Grandparents. I would trust my sister with her of course, but there's never been a need.

  • Ash9724-We have read about the travel warning but it seems it is at the mexican border and we are looking at Cancun. We are still a bit nervous but we need to read up on it more. We won't be bringing the kids though!
