Daughter wont hold bottle!

She turned one two weeks ago and wont hold her own bottle. I even tried sippy cups and she just plays with them and makes a huge mess! Any suggestions? Thank you!

  • Try the sippy cups that don't have handles. That was the biggest problem we had with the transition from bottle to sippy cup was we gave the ones with handles, and she mistook them for toys. So we gave the ones without handles and it took about 2 weeks but she uses those now throughout the day, and only a bottle in the morning and at night.

Oh, and during the 2 weeks it took to transition we left the sippy cup with her. We would put water or some juice in it, and let her get used to it on her own, not push it on her.

  • stop holding it for her. She'll figure it out

  • Well, I got rid of the bottle the day she turned 1. As far as the sippy cup goes, she will catch on, and drink from it when she gets thirsty. She will probably wait until you are not watching and chug it, if she's stubborn like mine are.
