is lavender an aggressive plant?

i have this extremely large hill side that can't be mowed and an thinking of planting lavender on it. It recives full sun and is well drained. I am looking for and aggressive plant that will take over the hillside and is pretty much maintance free.
is lavender and aggressive plant or are there better ideas out there? thanks beachaholic

  • Not aggressive , but very pretty.
    You should look into one of the Sedum family - there are many that thrive on fun sun -and they will take over quickly.

  • Lavender is beautiful but it does attrack bees. not agrresive bees, but bees none the less...have you thought of ivy?

  • Lavender isn't very aggressive. wild violets are pretty and aggressive, as well as ivy.
