Questioning recipe substitution????

Has anyone ever substituted ground sausage for Hamburger/turkey in hamburger helper recipe?? Or is this too off??All opinions welcomed!!!!

  • Yup. You can do that. It would taste different, but in some cases maybe even better.

  • Sure you can do it. I've used Italian sausage in the Italian flavored mixes. Works great.

  • I've never done it in hamburger helper, but I've done it in other things. I like using it instead of burger, it adds a whole new dimension of flavor.

  • Yeah, when I make meatloaf, I use both ground beef and hot italian sausage . . so yummy!

  • Absolutely, and you can add chopped onions, peppers or corn, it's great, just be creative!

  • Never tried that before but I have mixed ground Italian sausage and hamburger for spaghetti, burgers, meatballs, etc.
