carseat in a truck

my mom has a small truck and the only place to put the rear facing carseat is on the passenger side....is this ok??? we cant put it in the middle b/c of the gear shift...so is passenger side ok to out it on?????????

  • as long as there is no air bag i would say its perfectly fine, passenger side is fine, and if your really worried go to your nearest fire department and they will put it in for you for free and even show you how to buckle properly

  • Yep, exactly as emleejane said... also some trucks that have passenger airbags have a switch to turn it off...

  • If there is an airbag is there an off switch? We had a truck with only the front seat and the carseat had to go on the passenger side, but we always turned the airbag off. If it turns off or there isn't one then yes if there is an air bag that doesn't shut off then NO because even with the seat tight if the airbag deploys it will push the carseat up and baby will be hitting the back of the truck seat.
