Does hearing the word "females" bother you?

It drives me nuts. Better than "bitches" I suppose, but still. "That group of females" "I was looking at other females and she caught me". It makes us sound like a herd of animals.

  • I never really thought about it . . . it does kinda sound like a herd of animals . .lol.

  • Because some of the "females" in the herd may be a skank, whore, bi---, tramp, lady, woman, etc. etc. All may not be the same but a female describes all of them as one.

  • Females doesn't bother me but I hated the word "chicks". Seriously, have we ever looked like a baby chicken.

  • Seriously what ever happened to referring to women respectfully? Like "A group of women" or "ladies"? I know some say "because they're not all ladies" but lord, girls growing up have never been treated like "ladies".

  • It depends on the context in which it is used. I mean, I am a female so if someone calls me a female I can't really get mad. But anyword to describe "FEMALES" can sound not so nice depending on how it's used. "Girls" just seem too young and "Women" just seem too....old, and sometimes "Ladies" just sounds to proper. But sometimes men have a way of using the word "female" (along with other words..) that just make it sound derogatory.

  • No. That's what we are: Females. Its better than chicks, gals or bitches, don't you think?

  • I'd prefer "Ladies" but context is everything.
