  • my middle child was breastfed- solid- until he was a year. he refused all babyfoods, all babayceareals, crackers, fruits, breads, etc.
and he got his 1st teeth at 4 months.

he also had PICA (where they eat non-foods, like pregnant women that crave detergent and clay).

He was very senstative to food textures. even now at 14 he won't eat applesauce, mashed potaties, cooked veggies- but he eats them raw now.

no real advice- offer foods, find things he likes, add vitamins and don't push too hard or he could revert or get aneating disorder.

  • Just stick with that and surely he will eventually want something. He should be getting all his nutrition from the breast anyway. Just try again at a later time.

  • I had the same problem. Just keep trying. They say it takes at least 10 offers of a food on average, before it is accepted. Try letting your eat off of your plate. Babies like to eat exactly what you are eating. Put him in the high chair and just let him play and make a mess with the food...he might get some in his mouth. Most of all, don't stress about it. Babies can sense the stress, and it can make accepting the food even more difficult.

  • Keep trying or do a higher stage food. Or possibly only a stage 1 when he should be on a 2 or 3 by now.

  • i completely know what your talking about! i have an 8 month old too, and he is breastfed too, i actually asked that exact question yesterday! lol... i know, it sucks.. i've been trying to let him just get tthe idea of tasting different things, like letting him taste fruit bars and stuff, but i'm not sure if its working yet... i'm just gonna keep trying i guess... good luck though, and let me know if you find a cure, lol... and i'll tell you if i have any luck too!! :) sorry this wasn't very helpful, just wanted to let you know your not alone! :)

  • Just keep nursing. He'll eat food when he is ready. My son would only have a few bites every few days from 8 months on. Around 11 months is when he began eating daily. As long as he's nursing, he's getting what's needed.
