Forgot to rinse the aplicator is this BAD?

My son has a fever, and I gave him tylentol. After doing so, I forgot to rinse the plunger/applicator. I want to know if there's something bad that can come of this..I really hate to toss it, it's half full.
May seem like a silly question, but I did hear some place that it can cause harmful bacteria?

  • Most fevers are caused by a viral infection so it's not contageous...so no

  • Anon, many viruses are contagious... the cold, the flu, are viruses. But I don't think there's any issue with using the applicator again. I don't think a virus will survive in the bottle of tylenon. What would rinsing really do, anyway. We never rinse ours. But I wouldn't give it to your other child right away, just in case. I wouldn't toss the bottle.
