How did you teach your kid to spit the toothpaste out when they brush?

Just curious. =D

  • well Iknow that I bought the infant/toddler toothpaste for a long time as they do swallow it at first...but then I bri=ushed my teeth right next to them everytime so they watched how I did it. I would periodically stop and show the toothpaste was still in there and keep saying "keep it in your mouth and dont swallow it" and they catch on fast. Also make sure you are not using a ton of toothpaste, its not necs=essary to use a big inch long chunk of it, just barely a swipe and then too, get one of those fun sand timers, or a funny one and try to go 3 distracts them from swallowing and helps them brush longer. hope it helps...:o)

  • at what age did they get that they are supposed to spit though? my daughter is 3 and still swallows hers.
