  • This was a meal my mom made when I was a kid...it is still all of our favorite meal. It is good because you can add liquid, potatoes, and more veggies to stretch it if you need too.

    Hamburger Soup
    1 lb hamburger browned
    2 cups frozen corn
    2 cups frozen green beans
    1 small onion
    1 large can crushed tomatoes
    3 medium potatoes cubed

Peel and cube potatoes boil until they are half done. Reserve 3 cups of the potato water.
Brown hamburger with salt and pepper to taste, drain off any grease. Add onions and cook for three minutes, until onion is slightly cooked. Add can of tomatoes and the reserved potato water. Bring to boil and boil 10 minutes. Add potatoes, when it returns to boil add frozen corn and green beans. When the potatoes and frozen veggies are tender it is ready to serve.
