help with contractions .. so confused

im due in 3 days with my first i have been feeling what i believe are contractions, i feel them mostly in my stomach (my stomach gets tight i was told thats what a contraction is) the thing is they dont hurt at all. is it possible to have real contractions that dont hurt? ive noticed that they are getting a little stronger the last few days but still not hurting .

  • yes it is possible but most the time if they dotn have any pain with them most .. nto all .. but most nurses and drs will say it is just irritation contractions. id just keep track of them and if you feel your stomach go tight and they get close together (mydr syas no mor ethen 6 times in an hour) then go to l&d and be checked you never know .

  • Sounds like Braxton Hicks. Don't worry about them until they get more regular. Some women do have fairless painless labors right through, lucky them. If they get to 5 minutes apart for more than an hour, it is the real thing even if they don't feel painful.

  • Early labor is rarely painful and usually mistaken for BH. You can test them though. Drink a couple glasses of water and lay down for 15 minutes or so. If they go away and don't return within a couple hours then they are likely BH ctx. If they are real then follow the 4-1-1 rule. 4 minutes apart lasting 1 minute and going on for 1 hour. When you get to that point then head in.
