Conception

Do ultrasounds date from conception or do they always add an extra two weeks? If i had an ultrasound and measured 12 1/2 weeks does that mean i got pregnant 12 1/2 weeks ago? does anyone know the answer to this?

  • The date of conception is never known. Due dates are measured from the date of your last period...so there are approx 2 weeks figured into a due date where you are not actually pregnant. However when you have an ultrasound done and the baby is growing at a rate more/less than 7 days of your LMP your due date will change to wherever the baby is at in the growth pattern.
