Potty training, pooping difficulties

My daughter will be 3 in June. Potty training has been a chore. She pooped on the potty and was doing really good. She wears underwear and never has pee accidents, but she stopped pooping on the potty. Instead she holds it in all day and waits until we put a pull up on her at night and then poops in the pull up. We don't know how to handle it. Any ideas???? please help.

  • If she can hold it all day then she has bowel control. Tell her there will be no more pull-up at night. Get rid of them all and maybe put a water proof pad under her fitted sheet and put underwear on her. She is using the pull-up as a crutch. Watch her for signs that she needs to have a BM and take her to the potty. Sometimes you have to back track a little. When she sits on the potty, make sure it is comfortable and her. Put a step stool under her feet if they dangle down and put a potty seat over the regular toilet seat if she is about to fall through the whole. Good Luck

  • Sounds great but even if she falls asleep in her underwear she still poops in them.
