Lifting after vaginal birth...

When shouldl I be able to lift normal amounts of things after giving birth vaginally?

  • I did. If you bleed a lot or have anemia, you want to be careful that you don't overdo things and make yourself dizzy - but if you just listen to you're body you will be fine. I wouldn't want to move furniture, but I have no trouble lifting my older kids (up to 40 lbs) after giving birth without any problems.

    But really: listen to your body. And just because you CAN take the garbage out doesn't mean you should. It's safe to lift things, but you still need lots of rest!
