Would you recommend a bed created for only a mattress to fit and no boxspring?

I am in search of a new bed and wondered if it's better to go with a bed frame that uses a mattress and boxspring, or one that just uses a mattress.

  • I've had both, and I really can't tell the difference in terms of comfort. It depends on how you want to decorate-- you can't have a dust ruffle with a frame.

  • Well, I know that I currently have a bed set that was meant to have a water bed in it, so there is no boxspring, just a wooden board under my mattress, and I hate it. It makes my mattress feel a lot firmer than it is supposed to. I would go with the boxspring. =]
