  • Usually I only use them for rent and daycare, because they won't take cash or debit cards =) On rare occassions I will forget my debit card at home and have had to use a check when grocery shopping, but like I said - that's very rare.

I used to have a friend that wrote checks for everything because it was easier for her to balance her checkbook. She'd forget to write down her debit card purchases.

  • Some things I do. I don't generally carry cash, I use my debit card, so for some places/things that won't/can't accept that, I write a check. Part of my reason is I don't carry cash, part is it gives me proof that I paid, there's a paper trail and a record that I can prove, even if they don't give me a receipt or something. Also, things like childcare: at a hundred bucks a week, I'm definitely not going to carry that kind of cash with me.

  • Just about everything I do is either electronically (home banking) or my debit card. There are very few times I write a check. Actually, it's been ages since I've had to buy checks, which is nice. I think using the card and/or home banking saves a lot on having to buy checks and stamps.

  • Some bills, daycare...that's about it. I rarely have cash so I use my debit card all the time.

  • Never. I can't have a checking account because I owe a bank a lot of money, THEY let me withdrawal when I was already overdrawn. and, many places don't even take checks anymore, so I pay with money order or cash.

  • I do at Target so I can us my husbands employee discount. I need to get a Target debit card through my bank. I pay my mortgage and everything else online. At stores I use my debit or credit card.

  • Nope I pay with debit because I hate writing the check number and balancing ,and having to check if they cash the check they take forever.
