How old does your LO need to be when you can stop worrying about SIDS? Like, when can they start sleeping on their stomach?

  • When they start to roll over on their stomach then they can sleep on it. Just make sure everything is out of their way in the crib.

  • not until they are like 3 or 4 bc after SIDS its called SDS sorry to tell ya. but when they roll over on their own theres nothing you could do. SIDS is very unlikely but it does happen sadly. i have a four month old that im scared to death to put in the crib bc of it so she sleeps with me.

  • The risk goes down after 12 months. But there is also SUDC - Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. This affects children over the age of 12 months.

  • You shouldn't. You should live every single day like its the last. Easier said than done I know. I feel so jaded because once your child is past the age of one you don't worry about them dying so much. But they do sometimes. It seems so unfair because at least moms of SIDS babies can promote things like sleep on their backs, have a fan etc, SUDC moms can promote nothing. Toddlers can move their faces, they can get up and walk there is no reason at all they should bury their faces into a mattress and die.
