newborn eating...

It seems like my new born is wanting to eat more... she will eat and than an hour 1/2 later want some more.... she usually eats every three hours sometimes 2 1/2 & usually eats 2-3 ozs.... now it seems like she will eat the three ounces or so & than an hour later want another ounce or two.... is this normal?.... its only been happening the last two days.... she is nine days old.

  • Very normal. She will do this for quite awhile. Just feed her when she's hungry.

  • My daughter does that when she has a growth spurt, and then goes back to her normal feeding after a few days.

  • its normal dont worry about it as long as she eatting every two to four hours. she will eat till shes full or bored.

  • If your bottle feeding you shouldnt be feeding closer than every two hours. Perhaps she has gas or some other reason why she is crying. Most newborns, for the first week or two dont really know when their hungry.

  • Babies go through a cluster feeding phase which it seems like you are constantly freeding them. Its perfectly normal because thats how they go through growth spurts.
