I have 15 month old twins. One started walking about 2 weeks ago the other is not walking yet. Is this normal for twins? Should I seek help from a PT?

  • no, it's normal. every baby is different and will develope at their own pace. i wouldn't worry unless they're not walking after 18 months.

  • I don't see why it wouldn't be normal. all kids walk at different ages. I don't know if you are assuming because they are twins that they should be accomplishing goals at the same time. but they are each their own little person with different strengths and time lines.

I wouldn't worry about PT till 17 months, but if you are worried still you can bring it up to their doctor.

  • My kids walked at 16 1/2 months and 15 months. I don't think twins would learn to walk at the same exact time. Every child develops differently. I'm sure they didn't start crawling at the same time...

  • One of my twins was one step behind the other. One always reached a milestone before his brother. One is a half size bigger then the other. Its normal. Don't worry. Even now at 4 years old, the one talks better then the other.
