formal dresses

what are some good places to go to buy a formal dress? i looked online at macys, pennys, and pzaz. i really would prefer to go to a store so i can try it on. any ideas?

  • Well I got a prom dress from Newport News once and just had it tailored to fit better. Also got one from Burlington Coat Factory. Depends on the occassion and how formal?

  • davids bridal usually has cheap formal gowns that are meant to be brides maid dresses. jc penny's has nice gowns. so do other dept stores, but if you can't find a selection you like i would check a bridal store, they always have the "bridesmaids" dresses and usually those tend to run about $50-$500 maybe more depending on where you go and what you want
