What am i allowed to take for cough?

6 months prego and gotta bad cough for the last week that wont let up. Its hard enough to sleep at night with the belly and how low the baby is, cough just makes it worse- it even hurts to cough now...
any suggestions on home remedies or things i can take to help?

  • COLD EEZE COUGH DROPS ARE WHAT I TOOK WHEN I WAS PREGGO. ITS MOSTLY ZINC, MAYBE TRY THAT.

  • Get a vaporizer get some moister in the air other than that Vapor rup on your chest Drink Honey mixed with lemon tea If your Asmatic then go to your Dr and have him prescribe just solution For a theraphy .Its just Water with salt and wont harm your baby but it will help loosing things up in there .

  • cough drops are ok. i would go to the dr though and mention that youve had it for so long. i can't remember what actual meds you are allowed to take do you have a list from your dr? if not here is a link from the what to expect book its an article on what medications are ok

  • When in doubt, you should ask your OB-GYN. You should probably let them know anyway since the condition is persisting.

    Steamy showers, vaporizers, hot tea with lemon and honey, and lozenges are all great things to do, too. The cough is worse at night because you are laying down...drainage pools in the back of the throat (instead of coming out your nose or being coughed up) and can irritate your cough--among other things. I got relief from this by sleeping in the recliner (if you have one) or propped up.
