Houston we have a problem! big big problem!

ok. so we decided to color eggs today instead of yesterday (as if I don't already have enough going on) well I just woke up to find that some one (not going to name them) left the boiled eggs out all night in the pot of cold water. should I go buy new eggs? is any store open today for me to do that?

  • I wouldn't eat them. Lots of stores are open where I live. Wal-Mart only closes for Christmas Day so they shouldbe open.

  • I'd go ahead and color them, check each one before eating, but they should still be fine if they were hard boiled before leaving them out.

  • I would eat them. the shell wasn't broken so no bacteria could get in.

  • You can still color them but I wouldn't eat them. In my city the grocery stores are open but Walmart is closed. Walgreens is always open and they have eggs.

  • I would not eat them, but they are fine for coloring. FDA guidelines are if they have been at room temp for more than 2 hours DO NOT EAT THEM because of harmful bacteria that grows (yes even if the shell is not cracked) very rapidly after a couple hours. But they are fine to color and use as decorations. We did that, colored them, filled a glass bowl with easter grass and placed the dyed eggs inside to make a centerpiece for our Easter luncheon. If you plan on eating them, buy some more. WalMart should be open.
