  • It is the celebration of Jesus rising from the dead. It is celebrated at this time of year for much the same reason Christmas is celebrated when it order to gain more converts, and to help them in the transition of types of celebrations, the early church fathers "scheduled" the celebrations to coincide with pagan celebrations (solstices).

  • I'm Catholic and we celebrate it because is was the Resurrection of Jesus Christ who died for us on Good Friday to save all of us! Why celebrate Easter, Christmas, and other religious holidays if you don't know the true meaning behind celebrating it? Doesn't make sense to me.
