What is the latest you can...

Plant potatoes? Does anyone know?

  • Planters day in the midwest is May 15. By then you should be frost free and most of the rain should have fallen.

  • Depends on where you live and what kind of potato.
    In the south you can plant them fairly early, but in the north you have to watch for the constant water or wet ground. Standing water or consistently wet ground will rot your potato buds.
    The ground should be warm and fairly dry for potatoes.
