He has at least 4 8oz bottles a day and a yogurt in the moring and cereal at night and then if I can get him to eat babyfood inbetween he eats that but he hates that stuff now and I dont know what todo.. Any advice?

  • Anything you can mush with your tongue on the roof of your mouth with ease, he can eat. We did a lot of table foods starting around 6-7 months. Just stay nearby, avoid hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, and honey. Noodles, soft fruits, cooked veggies, crackers, ground meats, and rice are still some of my daughters favorites.

  • Feed him real food. Just make sure you cut it up or mash it really well. My babies only got baby food until they had tried about 15 foods.

  • Give him real food my lil guy who just turned 8 months today has been eating our table food with us since he was about 6 months, you can give him anything that you can break up into small pieces or mash up and he should be fine. Does he have teeth yet? Because really even if he doesnt it should still be fine, I even give my LO pieces of chicken and whatever else we are eating

  • What do you think babies ate before Gerber decided to brainwash people into thinking babies couldn't survive on "real food"? DD started on soft finger foods like steamed carrots, toast, tender meats in strips. I have a pic of her eating a rib at about 10 months old.

  • You can give him table food. My DS hates jar babyfood..but he loves to eat food from our plate....just yesterday he ate chicken nugget with no problems (he only has one front tooth).

  • if he likes to chew his food, but puree isnt doing the job, try offering him table foods! a banana is a great finger food. you can break it up into small grab-friendly chunks. or if you make your own food, dont puree it all the way. gerber has a great 3rd stage organic food with chunks of pasta, but pureed turkey and carrots. you can also offer chunks of avacado or kiwi. one fave lunch item of my son, which I believe i offered around 8 or 9 months is turkey and cheese sandwiches. I'd use one slice of bread and fold it over and rip it up into small chunks. my son really likes the independance of eating!
