  • ya at 8 months Lily was all on table food. I gave her hotdogs and chicken nuggets and pinched off deli meats for protein :]

  • Meat can be digested just fine by 9 months. Are you worried about the choking part or the digestion? At 9 months I put chicken and vegetables in the blender and made my own purees. The rule for table foods is to start with small bites of soft foods and work up. If your baby's working his jaw to chew (teeth or no teeth), then at 8 months you can offer cheerios, bread, avocado, ripe pears, peeled grapes cut into 4ths, soft cooked veggies (peas, carrots...), crackers, tofu, rice, small pasta...

  • Make sure hot dogs are cut in very small pieces, not just in rings, because they're real choking hazards.

  • Mine is 2 and STILL doesn't like meat. They make those little meat purees in stage one foods so I imagine it would be ok. I personally wouldn't give him hot dogs with only 3 teeth.

  • I make my own baby food (when it isn't something that can be easily chewed in it's original form like avocados and bananas etc), and I am NOT cool with liquifying meat... (blech!) so personally we are going to wait until he's a bit better at chewing things up before we move on to meat. Even though his stomach could digest it now.

  • give him pieces of rotisserie chicken...usually the meat is juicy and can easily be gummed.

  • My 8 month old will hardly eat anything. My oldest wasn't a real fan of meat until like 15 months. Try the meat sticks or vienna sausages. Good luck.
