mooching friend of daughter

my daughter has a friend who is an able bodied guy who doesnt work,isnt going to school,but loves to mooch off people. hes 19 and very cpable of working. he says hes looking for a job.but hes always out of money.if i help in any way i feel like im enabling him. what or how is the best way to say NO!! and how to steer him in the right direction.he is a good guybut he does have this one issue.

  • If he ask for anything, just say, "times are hard and i don't have anything extra". You shouldn't even have to worry about something like this. If you give him things, you are enabling him. Saying NO is so easy. Some people like being a bum and won't even try to help themselves because they have someone they can bum off of.When you say no, don't feel guilty at all, he is not your responsibility.

  • SAY NO and say it clearly and loudly. if u dont u r enabling him and he is enjoying it all at your expense. u shouldnytfeel bad. he needs to grow up or go hungry. that is a great stimulus for a nice young man with this one issue,

  • Just tell him you don't have the resources to help. He'll either seek out other "victims" or he'll get the message.
