When do babies start walking after they start pulling themselves up on stuff?

My daughter is 8 months today. She has been pulling herself up on furniture, her bed and anything she can get her hands on. I was just wondering how soon usually after babies start doing this do they start walking?

  • Kaylee was pulling herself up and walking around the coffee table by 7 months. She never took her first step until 2 weeks ago (and she is 11 months old now)

  • My daughter is 14 months and has been pulling herself up since about 9 months, regardless she is still not walking (i think she's lazy b/c she'll stand on her own) every kid does it at their own pace.

  • It all depends on when the child is ready. They will do it when they feel comfortable.

  • Both my kids started pulling themselves up and walking while holding things at about 8 months, but one walked at 10 mos and the other walked at 14 mos.

  • My oldest took his first solo step one month after pulling up on furniture and cruising, then was officially walking two months after his first solo step.
