  • Why do you feel the need for alliances? If your work place is so ruthless that you have to form alliances to protect yourself, you really need to change jobs.

  • One of my colleagues made a good observation about his apartment building. Your neighbors don't live by you because they're your friends, they just rented the place next door.The same is true of the workplace. You didn't pick the job to be with friends and neither did they. If you become friends great...but you can't expect to be friends with all of them...or even like them all for that matter.
