planting a tree

can I simply plant some acorns outside and care for it or is there more involved

  • Mother nature plants acorns and grows majestic oak trees. Your best bet would be to buy a small tree or a seedling from a nursery. Oaks are pretty slow growers. But you could certainly grow from an acorn if you want to try it. The problem is that rodents are likely to munch on the acorn. So plant plenty of them.

  • Put the acorns is pots first to get a good start. You may want to make sure where you are getting the acorns from first, make sure the tree produced is something you really want. And keep in mind, jchances are very good you won't live near the tree by the time it reaches maturity.
