we just got a new dog from the spca she had to be spade. we also have a terrier dog who keeps trying to mound her ,and keeps licking her wounds, i s there any way we can stop this thnaks it so annoying the hound !!

  • Dogs tend to naturally feel the need to lick the wounds so really the only thing you can do for that is keep them apart until she heals. We just got our new dog spayed but thankfully our other dog left her wound alone. As for the other he neutered? Usually they will not do the mounting thing if they are fixed, but if they are not I don't see an end to it.

  • You can ask the vet for one of those lampshade looking collars to put on your dog to keep it from licking the other dog at least. You just need to keep an eye on them or put the dog thats in heat in an isolated area or board it

  • If it is a small wound and shaved put a big waterproff bandaid on it with a little hot sauce on the outside.

  • the mounting will mostly stop in about 2 weeks her hormomes are waky right now
