Too many Braxton Hicks?

I'm 26 weeks. I've been having problems for the past two months with fake contractions coming every day only about 10-15 minutes apart for usually over 3 hours, starting only at work, but now whenever, to the point where today the other moms at work were almost certain I was in labor. But my midwife and the nurses kept ignoring me when I tried to get answers for why this is happening, or help to relieve them since they're making it hard to work, and I'm just ignored. 4 days of every week this happens, and out of 15 people I regularly talk to who've had children, it's not normal. And it's causing a lot of problems. And there's no reason for it, I'm drinking plenty of water and everything.
Most of the people in the father's family came early and his aunt had to get a shot to stop her early labor. Should I really stop worrying about this and ignore it as them seem to want me to? Or do I have reason to be worried?

  • everyone is different. if you are really worried i would go in to your midwifes office while having the braxton hicks that way she can actually see what you mean. and if you still aren't comfortable with her assesment of the situation go to an ER and have them monitor you for awhile that way you can tell for sure if you are having real contractions that need to be stopped or just really bad braxton hicks
what is your job? if they are only happening at work, maybe it is because you are on your feet for too long? try to sit down every hour for a few minutes, and while you are sitting down, have your water and a small snack then

  • Im 29 weeks 5 days and i had the same problem.
Yesterday i went into labor and deliver because of braxton hicks and back pain (hubby thought i was having back labor)

And the whole time what i thought were braxton hicks were real contractions.. just not regulated.

Im only 1/2 cm dialated.. and since they arnt always exactly 9 minutes apart sometimes there 12 others are 8 ect... they sent me home untill they regulate.

I would go to labor and delivery.
They can check you and put you on the monitors just to make sure!!!

  • I had LOTS of braxton hicks starting at 18 weeks. Drinking lots of water can help. the last couple months they'd be 2-3 minutes apart- for hours. I went in to the L&D- becuase 'better safe than sorry'. I felt like a DORK, but even my doctor said he'd rather me come in for false labor all the time them stay home thinking it was false and it being real. Some people get LOTS of hard/close together Braxton Hicks. not everyone is 'normal'. just most people. but some of us have to be the out of normal ones.

have your doctor hook you up to a monitor to check. Better Safe than Sorry
