  • None that I know of. It'd be all over the news.

  • It's the inside liner of infant formula cans that contains melamine. We were told Infamil and similac and it was mostly showing up in the liquid formula but the liner of the powder formula cans have it as well. Disgusting how a baby formula is toxic and can harm your baby.

  • There have been recalls before-I think 22 of them. I haven't heard of any recently but personally wouldn't risk using it anyway. You can search melamine and the FDA to see the results--they say the numbers are too low to matter so nothing has been pulled off the shelf.

  • Nope. The formula is fine. Stop believing everything the media puts out. They're after ratings. Read the actual reports and studies, not what the freakin' news puts out there.

  • Well theres tons of contaminants in infant formula you just need to know what they are and weigh the risks.

Formula will not be recalled until an infant dies from it...this is because it will cause a major panic and MANY children would have nothing to eat at all because their mothers would be opposed to donated breastmilk.

Even breastmilk can be considered "tainted" but breastmilk is also filtered by our bodies, so anything tainted we take in is filtered before passed through the milk, PLUS since what our b

  • grr sent to early
Since what our bodies is more natural AND it has immunities to pass it makes up for any contamination.

  • All infant formula contains industrial and biological contaminants, mostly in trace levels. Infant formula is regulated by the FDA which permits certain levels of melamine, hexane, BPA and other chemicals in infant formula, as well as insect parts and rodent droppings (same as any food, really). Just look at infant formula labels. Most contain warnings that infant formula is not sterile. They're also not required to list industrial byproducts. (such as the melamine from equipment, hexane from extracting DHA and ARA from fungus and algae, and BPA which leeches from the liner of the cans.) Or stuff that is in the original ingredients. A common rocket fuel is found in cow's milk (human milk too), so infant formula contains rocket fuel.
