  • How old is the baby? Formula Fed or Breastfed? Have you taken baby to the Dr? You need to go to the Dr. if baby has had diarrhea for 2 weeks.

  • Cut back on fruit your child is eating. Especially stay away from citrus and tropical fruits!

When the diarrhea is under control, try this diaper rash cure that worked for us: (from a nurse)

Baking soda in the bathwater. Dry baby and let baby be diaper-less for a bit to be sure the skin is really dry. Don't put on any creams. Just diapers. The skin needs to heal and the creams keep the air from getting to the rash to heal it.

  • Teething could be a good cause, an ear infection, an allergy of some sort. Use maalox in your rash cream or brown flour to help clear up the rash. Put some vinegar in the bath water to take the redness and soreness away as well. I would start pedialite mixed with the formula or juice.

  • Take the baby to the doctor. Having the runs that long is not good for the colon. You need to find out, it could be a bacterial infection.
