What does amniotic fluid smell like?

I was just wondering if anyone can describe it?

  • Amniotic fluid can be clear, pink, brown, or green. It also has an unusual smell that some people compare to Comet cleanser. If the fluid looks yellowish and smells of ammonia, you're probably experiencing urine leakage. This frequently happens to women toward the end of pregnancy.

  • It smells slightly sweet, or it's absent of scent. If you think you are leaking, also think about how much you are urinating. If there is a lot of fluid, and you're still peeing as much as you usually would, it's probably your water. That's how I knew. Plus, it was clear, then it turned pink. Good luck!
