  • Newer used cars are better. They have already been broken in, and retain there value better. I have a Ford Escape. It has the same engine as my brothers Focus, so it gets wonderful gas mileage. And if we have an second baby we will be able to still have room for the kids and our dogs.

  • Number one: NEWER USED!!! As soon as you drive it off the lot the price drops like 5000 dollars. Like something outrageous. I have a pontiac G6 I love my car. But I only average around 21 mpg.
My MIL has a Chevy malibu.. I believe those are 5 star rating, they have onstar, she averages the upper twenties.. they are real good cars. I was going to get one but I didn't watn to have the same car as her! LOL But I love my car. :] If you want something smaller.. then a ford focus would be good. Real cute and sport and get real good gas mileage!! However, if you know someone like a close family member who you can get their discount then I would buy a new car.. like with ford my grandpa worked there so I could get his A or Z plan. Knocks a couple thousand off. Good luck!! :)

  • Really mammabella ?? My mom has an 04 explorer and she gets like 13 mpg. I had a jeep liberty (smaller suv) that got the same as that which was terrible.

  • I have always been a fan of the Subaru Outbacks. I was going to buy one when we were starting our family, but we ended up with twins so I got a mini van right away. And as everyone else said definitely buy newer used.

  • See what you like. Do some Research on it! Even insurance company's Say Stuff.. Like which are Safer? More likely to be Stolen Etc... Ask Family & Friends their Choices... Do A Search on A Model or make you're considering & see if they're High Maintenace, prone to costly Repairs, Recalls Etc... My past 2 Cars I Loved were my 2 Dodge Interpids. My '94. & my '99! Currently my '99 has close to 190,000. It Averages close to 30 mpg. It fits A Baby Seat & Child Seat Very Well in back & room for one more!! A larger Car! But The Merger back then had them discontinue making them! It Broke my Heart! Besides that Nascar Raced them Too! Best of Luck!! May you find your Right one!!
