Feeding a 1month old

How much should a one month old be eating? Like my daughter is eating 4 oz every 3 hours. It seems like thats way too much. I think (my son was taking 3 oz every 3-4 hours when he was born. Is she eating too much? (she is bottle feed)

  • your child should be eating something that takes up approx. the size of her fist. My son used to drink 6oz every hour though, he was a little piggy, and a bit on the preemie size so I let him pig out. If she's not too gassy, or constipated, feed her until she's done. She'll tell you when she's had enough.

  • Not sure, I breastfeed so I don't know how much she always has.
But today she had about 5oz of pumped milk and ate for about 5 minutes from the breast pretty much right after....
    Shes 7 weeks.

  • I think at 1 month my son was at about 3 or 4 oz. And he eats every 3 hours. Sounds fine to me. I know a girl who was feeding her son 7 to 8 oz every 2 hours at one month. And I freaked. cuz that is way way too much. But sounds like your doing good.
