What do you think is causing the amo shortage?

So, why do you think there is such an amo shortage? DH and I went to Bass pro shop and it's hard to find anything for hand guns. We weren't even able to find primers to make our own bullets anymore. Do you think people just bought more when Obama was elected and companies didn't expect such an increase in orders? Do you think people are hoarding bullets? Do you think they're not making as many as they once did?

  • Obama said he would stop the sell of guns and you do need bullets to go with them. We are hoarding them just in case.

  • Ammo shops have seen an increase of gun and especially ammo sales in the past few months. People are worried their right to own a gun may be limited or taken away. I think its more do to the fact of hoarding than less ammo being made.

  • You ever just stand in the amo section and listen to people reactions that haven't tried to buy amo recently? It's interesting to say the least. Online places even have bank-ups for several months.

I believe he said something along the lines of assault rilfes, but not handguns.. After his trip to Mexico, he decided to discard that. Ill have to do more research to find the details of this though.

  • Part of it is hoarding, but the companies are probably slowing down production too, and it's more noticeable this time of the year. Obama wants to stop the general public from exercising their  second amendment rights, but since he knows he can't do it outright, he's mounting a stealth campaign. After all, guns aren't much good without bullets!

  • "We essentially have two realities, when it comes to guns, in this country. You’ve got the tradition of lawful gun ownership. It is very important for many Americans to be able to hunt, fish, take their kids out, teach them how to shoot. Then you’ve got the reality of 34 Chicago public school students who get shot down on the streets of Chicago. We can reconcile those two realities by making sure the Second Amendment is respected and that people are able to lawfully own guns, but that we also start cracking down on the kinds of abuses of firearms that we see on the streets. "

Sounds like he is all for respecting the second ammendment.
