What do you call your Grandparents??

It seems like most people I know have a different name that they call their grandparents. I call both of my parents' parents "Grandma" and "Grandpap". My daughter will also call my parents "Grandma" and "Grandpap"
My best friend calls her mothers parents "Nana" and "Papa". (They are Italian on her moms side) but then she calls her dad's mom "Grandma".

I've heard many many different grandparent names, whether it's to do with heritage, or tradition, or even just whatever name comes out of the grandchild's mouth.

So, I'm curious. What do/did you call your grandparents and what do your children call your parents???

  • Grandma and Grandad for me. And for my future son. He will call my mum by her first name cos she hates the idea of being called anything else. My so's mother will be called Nanny/Nan and my stepmum will be called Granny/Gran. My dad will be Grampy and my so's stepdad will be hist first name again. My son is gonna have ALOT of Grandparents and one set of great grandparents.

The awesome advantages of having a child young.

  • I called my grandparents Grandma and Grandpa (for both sides.) My kids call my mom Grandma. Before my MIL passed away, she wanted to be called Nana so when we are talking about her to my daughter we refer to her as Nana. We also refer to our deceased fathers as grandpa when talking to our kids.
