Does her booster need to have a back on it? She is almost 6 and weighs 60 lbs.

Is a regular booster fine?

  • No problem. I am so glad to hear it! If you would like you can join the car seat group to get recomendations on which one would be best for your daughter. Britax Regents are quite expensive (they are like the "name brand") and I'm sure you could find something that will do the job for cheaper.

  • It depends on how tall the seat of your car is. If her ears are above the top of the seat when she is in a booster she needs one with a back to protect her neck if you get into a wreck. If she is not that tall a regular booster will be fine.

  • Yes, the point of the booster is to raise them tall enough so that the belt is positioned properly.

  • Most booster seats are for 30-100 lbs I think. And here they must be in one till they are 4'6"

  • I would also like to remind you a booster seat can never be used with a lap only belt. You always have to use a shoulder belt as well.

  • Oh I know, she ALWAYS uses the shoulder belt I promise.
