Bottle feeding comfort sucking

Is it alright to let my baby continue to suck on the bottle after it's empty? It's a playtex nurser, so I don't think she'll get air. She just likes to non-nutritive suck after she's done eating when she's at the breast and I'm trying to find a way for the in-laws to keep her calm when they watch her.

  • pacifier. Also, when my babies sucked the bottle dry, that usually meant that they were still hungry.

  • Pacifier. She is still getting air.

I also agree with anon. If my boys kept sucking after it was empty, they were still hungry. Sometimes it only took another ounce, sometimes two.
