  • Keep nursing, you can put a few drops of breastmilk up yours and your son's noses for congestion. Other than that, follow the link posted by Lynette.

  • You need one of those bulb things to gently get the mucus out of baby's nose.

Take baby into the bathroom, close the door, turn on a hot shower and let the bathroom get steamy; this should help. You can also give baby some weak peppermint tea in a bottle; peppermint is a great natural decongestant.

  • Elevate the head of the crib.
Steam in the bathroom at least once a day and suction out what you can.
Saline nose drops at diaper changes, suction only if you can see stuff.
Humidifier in the room (steam or cool mist whichever works better for your son)
    Tylenol for discomfort.

As for the honey thing...ANY honey put in lemon water has been known for years to comfort the throat.

  • Nurse, nurse, and nurse some more, espeically if you have the cold too. Breastmilk up the nose instead of saline, suction and warm heat in the bathroom. For you peppermint, echinacea, and honey are great. kellymom.com is a great site so check that out.
