Anyone's baby start out with blue eyes and end up with brown?

My 6 week old has really blue eyes. I have brown and my husband has green. I just always assumed hers would be brown. If yours came out with blue, and I"m talking very blue, did they change to brown?

  • My eldest had very blue eyes, by about 12 mos they were greenish and by 18 mos hazel. My other two had eyes that were obviously going to be brown- they were kind of brownish grey at birth. So they could still end up green or brown, and it could take a while to see the final colour!

  • I bet they will change to green if they're bright. My niece had very bright blue eyes and her mom had brown, and her dad had green. My nephew had dark blue eyes that turned to brown.

  • Yeah, my daughter did. She had very bright blue eyes at birth, and eventually turned brown by the time she turned 1. My son who is 2.5 has blue-green eyes, but in different light they look brown. I'm thinking eventually they will be brown.

  • My first two had blue eyes for almost a year but now they are very brown. My third on the other hand has had blue eyes since birth and the look to be staying that color. Its really a toss up at this point!

  • If you are caucasian, ALL white babies are born with blue eyes. Then as the light hits them over time, the pigment in the eye can change to a different color. So sometimes they stay blue, sometimes they don't. My friend's baby had blue eyes and now they are green. It just depends. But yeah, if you are white, all white babies are born with blue eyes.

  • Me and DH have dark brown eyes and my 2 year old still has bright blues! We think she either got it from his dad or my g-ma cause other than them nobody has blue eyes. People accused me of cheating on him (he didn;t)
